THE BALL PISTON ENGINE TIMING MECHANISM
Abstract
Ball valve mechanism designed piston engine, consisting of a valve body and actuator disposed in the cylinder cover. Organ valve is designed as a locking ball with a hole installed in the saddle rings with holes, with a drive from the drive shaft, which has a gearing with a camshaft. Ball and hole locking holes saddle rings are in the form of an oval, the major axis of which is located along the shaft. Tractor the locking ring are pressed against the ball by an elastic member, such as a plate spring. Tractor locking ring and ball are made of heat-resistant material. Between the locking ball and the cylinder cover has a cavity for the passage of coolant. The drive shaft is mounted in antifriction bushings, and at its end is formed a slot, which is included in the locking groove ball spline. drive shaft speed two-stroke engine twice and four stroke four times lower than the frequency of crankshaft rotation. The torque from the camshaft via the gear teeth is transmitted to the drive shaft, which through the slot and spline groove transmits it to the shutoff ball. The locking ball is rotated together with the opening in the seat ring. When opening the shut-off ball match with the holes in the seat ring gases pass freely through them, and at overlapping locking ball
holes in the seat ring gas passage ceases. The opening of the locking ball once coincide with the holes in the seat ring in one revolution of the crankshaft two-stroke engine and two revolutions of the crankshaft four-stroke engine, allowing free passage of gases, corresponding to the working cycle. Worn locking ball is offset by pressure it to the seat ring elastic element, such as a plate spring. The use of the invention allows to install on the piston engine simple and reliable timing mechanism working without shock and inertia loads with close fitting surfaces robochem.
