THE USE OF A TRAINING COMPUTER SIMULATOR «REMOTE AUTOMATIC CONTROL SYSTEM FOR THE MAIN ENGINE» IN THE PROCESS OF IMPROVING THE QUALIFICATION OF SHIP ENGINEERS
Abstract
The article reviews analysis of the computer simulator, which has been developed in Singapore marine academy, in main engine remote control system MAN B&W type for a modern marine vessel. Here was analyzed the question: what is the best way of using the resource of the simulator during practical lessons both in high educational Institutions and in advanced marine engineering educational system, in order to improve understanding, when studying in classes appropriate module in main engine remote control system by future water transport specialists. Procedure of remote starting, controlling, stopping of a main engine from the navigational bridge, and the way to use this material for studying were considered in the article. It was examined, how to achieve the best understanding in classes the fuel and engine valve’s timing processes, which provide reversing of a two stroke engine. Charging air process and exhaust valve timing were discussed from the side of the simulator as well.
