Abstract

An article deals with dangers represented by strained steel particles formed as a result of welding or friction that are capable of setting on fire vapour-air mixtures of inflammable liquids transported aboard. Analysis on the influence of temperature loss by means of radiation on maximum temperature and life span of a strained steel particle in a vapour-air mixture of inflammable liquids is carried out depending on initial conditions, which are temperature and diameter of a particle, thickness of oxide layer.
